A Qualification

Sophie and her Aunt Shelly were playing around with my hair. When they were done, Sophie exclaimed, "Oh Mama, you look sooo pretty..."
"Well, thank you Soph-"
"...from the back!"
Thanks for that distinction.

Wait Your Turn!

We thought it was weird when Will didn't get his first tooth until he was well over a year old. But doctors and dentists assured us that this meant he'd have "better teeth" and that his baby teeth would likely fall out later than most other kids.

I'm not sure what they meant by "better teeth", but certainly his baby teeth seem to be sticking around a little longer than average. In fact, his first loose tooth is so reluctant to leave, the new tooth has given up on waiting and decided to make its appearance. I'm pretty sure I see some orthodontic bills in our future.

Update: Evan

We continue to enjoy little Evan. He is a very sweet-tempered and happy little guy. Night-time sleeper? ...Not so much, but we love him anyway.

The Third Adult

Will...

a) is obsessed with purchasing Rosetta Stone, wireless microphones and public address systems.

b) When Andy complained about the low humidity level in our house, suggested, "Just put a pot of water on the stove and turn it on real low!" as a solution.

c) Window-shops incessantly at Amazon.com.

Meaningful

Sophie looked at me the other day and said, "This is a mean-it thing!"

It took me a few seconds to realize that she has a hard time remembering the word "serious", so she simply makes a logical substitution.

***

"Mama, I'll put this on my fantasy."

"You mean your vanity?"

"Well, you can call it a vanity, Mama, but I will call it my fantasy!"

***

"Mama, is Christmas *really* Jesus' birthday?"

(They celebrated Jesus' birthday in her Bible class in December and must have made reference to this question.)

"Well, Sophie, we don't actually know what day He was born, but we know it was in winter. So we should celebrate it all the time."

"Why don't we just pray about when His birthday was? I'm going to pray about it right now:

Dear God, when was Jesus' birthday? Amen!"

Problem solved.

***

"Mama, I like two - no, three(!) healthy things:

Cereal,

Grilled cheeses, and

Peanut butter....

Oh, and bread!"

Awesome.
