My new friend!

For my birthday, I decided it was time to get a really nice digital camera. After much research and confusion (since I don't know anything about photography), I decided to blindly follow the advice of the Wolf Camera employee and picked out a Nikon D40.

I've had it for almost 24 hours and so far, I am pretty smitten although I'm still figuring a lot of things out. Here are two of my first pictures (as you can see, I'm enjoying experimenting with color effects. You will probably be sick of them soon):

(These shoes are a totally random, silly subject. I locked myself in my closet this morning to read the manual, so when I was practicing taking pictures, they were the first thing I could find.)

The picture of Sophie is BEAUTIFUL! Maybe I need one of those cameras too. Happy Mother's Day to me.

I'm going to post this comment on your blog too, because I doubt you'll return to my blog read comments.
Thank you for the great comments! You always make me feel a little more "normal." It's easy for me to idealize what parenting typical children must be like.

And for Luke and photos, I really don't know. Maybe he's learned I'm going to keep taking photos until I get a good one, so he might as well cooperate and get it over with. Just a guess. I take a LOT of photos and delete many of them.

I like how in the last post Will has more trucks than sand. Great new camera and cute shoes.
