Will's Birthday

I've gotten behind on posting, so bear with me as I get caught up.

First up: HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILL!

Will had his heart set on having his birthday party at his school playground, but we woke up the morning of the party to find that it was unseasonably cold with a high in the mid-50s. After spending a cold morning at the Walden Farm, we decided we needed to move the party indoors. Will was broken-hearted that he had to have his party at Chuck E. Cheese's, but he did perk up a little once he found out he didn't have to sit in Chuck E.'s lap.

Another fantastic cake decorated by Tia/Annie!

Will got a great new bike for his birthday that is just his size! He has been doing a great job of riding it.

Who's in charge here?

Not to ruin any surprises, but Will is going to be a policeman for Halloween. He has his costume, complete with belt, holster and handcuffs. The costume is safely put away so pieces don't get lost or torn between now and the big day.

A few nights ago, we were upstairs playing in his room. I was tickling Will's face or otherwise doing something silly.

Will: Mom, you are not allowed to do that!

Mom: But Will, you are not allowed to tell me what I'm allowed to do.

Will doesn't miss a beat. "Well, Mom, I'm the one with the handcuffs!"

Come With Us To The Ring Farm!

We're making our annual trip to the Ring Farm on Friday, October 23. We'll arrive around 4:45 and enjoy the corn maze and playground. Then, at 6:15, a hayride will take us to our fire pit, where we will roast hotdogs and marshmallows. Although we'll provide dinner, you will have to pay your own admission to the Farm.

We'd love for any of our Nashville-area friends to join us. Just let us know so we'll have enough grub. If you need more information, please leave a comment or otherwise contact us!

Just remember...

Will is learning to write and likes to practice. On a craft stick, he has written "Will Sophie Oats" and on the back "Will Sophie Honey", because he was copying words off his granola bar wrapper. He is showing it to me so I can read what he's written.

Mom: Will... Sophie... Dats?

Will flips the stick over.

Mom: Oh... Will, Sophie, Honey. The other side must say "Oats", not "Dats". I got confused and thought the O was a D.

Will: It's OK, Mom... I've gotten confused about that before too. Just remember, a D is a line with a big curve, and an O is just a circle!

Turley Update

These pictures are a few weeks old, but they show Turley's new roof and cleaned up landscaping.
